What the Gate.io referral code gives you
Our link opens Gate's sign-up page, which reads "Join me at Gate to receive 10,000+ USDT" and lists two steps: Sign Up – 5 USDT (complete all beginner tasks to receive rewards worth 25 USDT) and Trading Task – 10,000 USDT (complete net deposit and spot or futures trading tasks to win up to 10,000 USDT), with reward steps of 5, 10, 30, 110, 310 and 10,000 USDT [1]. The page does not show what each step requires.
Gate's own Rewards Hub page shows a first stage of its advanced trading task that asks for a net deposit of at least 200 USDT and cumulative trading volume of at least 6,000 USDT. Its amounts and steps differ from the sign-up page, and Gate says beginner-task rules and rewards vary by region, so use the numbers in your own Rewards Hub [2][3].
Gate's rules for these tasks: complete the beginner tasks within 15 days of sign-up and claim their rewards manually; challenge rewards are settled after the event ends and, after a 3-day review, paid within 48 hours; stablecoin trades do not count towards volume; sub-accounts and institutional, API and affiliate accounts are excluded; and each verified user can claim the beginner tasks once. Rewards are vouchers, and only a limited number are available each day [2][3].
The fee side works differently from a discount. In April 2023 Gate announced that invited users would no longer get a fee discount but a commission rebate, credited to the spot account after each trade [4]. In June 2023 it capped the share an affiliate can give a direct invitee at 20% [5]. On CRYPTPER we set the ratio at that 20% cap, the maximum our affiliate account allows, so 20% of our commission comes back to you; the sign-up page does not show the ratio.
How to use the Gate.io referral code
1. Open our link. Gate's sign-up page appears with the inviter's name at the top [1].
2. Select your country or region of residence, tick the box to accept the User Agreement and Privacy Policy, and start creating your account [9].
3. Enter your email address or phone number and press Next, enter the verification code Gate sends, then set your login password [9]. The app guide follows the same steps [10].
4. Gate's registration guides for the website and the app list no referral-code box, and its referral rules speak of signing up "using the referral code or link", with each user able to join through only one referral method [9][10][6]. That is why we point you to the link rather than to a field.
5. Complete identity verification and the beginner tasks in the Rewards Hub within 15 days [2][3].
Gate's referral rules add that cross-site invitations are not supported: if the country you select moves you to another Gate site, the referral relationship will not be established [6]. Use our link when you sign up: it carries the code. Gate documents no way to add a referral code after registration.
Identity verification and where Gate.io is not available
Gate says all users must complete KYC and that you must verify before depositing or withdrawing; review usually takes 10 minutes to 12 hours [7]. The Rewards Hub beginner tasks include an identity-verification step that asks for identity and face verification [2].
Gate's Restricted Locations page (dated 22 November 2024) says restricted regions currently include, but are not limited to, the United States, Mainland China, Singapore, Canada, France, Germany, Hong Kong, Malaysia, Malta, Cuba, Iran, North Korea, Sudan, Crimea, Spain, Luhansk, Donetsk, the Netherlands, Bolivia, the United Kingdom, Myanmar, Venezuela, Uzbekistan, Austria, India, Indonesia, Japan, Argentina, Cambodia, the United Arab Emirates, Thailand and South Korea [8]. Gate's referral rules separately exclude users in Belgium, the United Kingdom, France, Germany, the Netherlands, Turkey, Austria and South Korea from its referral programme [6].

What you pay after sign-up
Gate's fee page lists VIP 0 rates that match the table below for spot and for futures [11]. The rebate described above is paid separately, after you trade.
