Step 1: Open the sign-up page
Start from the button above: it opens Gate's sign-up page with the referral code CRYPTPER carried in the link. On that page the inviter is shown; if you see a plain sign-up screen with no inviter, open the link again before you go on (page seen 29 September 2026) [1].
If you go to Gate yourself, click Register at the top right of the website [2] or tap Sign up in the app [3]. Gate's registration guides show no referral field, so use the link if you want the code attached. Gate documents no way to add a code to an existing account.
Step 2: Select your country or region
Gate asks for your Country/Region of Residence first, and you accept the User Agreement (and, in the app, the Privacy Policy) before you continue [2][3]. Choose the country you actually live in: identity verification later asks for your residence and nationality [5], and Gate restricts several locations (see the list below).
Step 3: Enter your email address or phone number
Choose email or phone as the registration method, enter it, and press Next [2][3]. Gate offers no other method in these guides.
Gate sends a verification code to that email or phone. Enter it on the verification page, and press Resend if it does not arrive. The app guide says the code is valid for 15 minutes [2][3].
Step 4: Set your login password
Set a login password and press Confirm [2][3]. Gate does not publish a mandatory format; its app guide recommends a strong password with letters, numbers and symbols [3]. Later logins use the password followed by an email or phone verification step [2].
Step 5: Verify your identity
Gate says identity verification is required for deposits, withdrawals, fiat trading and Launchpool participation [4]. On the website: click your avatar, choose Identification and press Verify Now. Enter your residence, nationality and ID type and press Next; then complete the document check by mobile QR code, directly on the web, or with a gesture photo. An optional proof of address raises your withdrawal limits, though Gate does not publish the limits in these articles [5].
Use a valid identity document in your own name, such as a passport, ID card or driver's license, still within its validity period, with all four corners visible. Gate accepts only original photos: copies, scans, screenshots and edited or filtered images are refused. Files must be JPG or PNG, larger than 10 KB and no larger than 4 MB, and your name must match the document exactly. You must be at least 18 [4][5].
Gate gives two review times. One article says KYC review usually takes between 10 minutes and 12 hours [4]; the other says the automatic review usually finishes within a few minutes and may take up to 1 business day depending on clarity and volume [5].
Your first deposit
Gate's beginner's deposit guide lists three ways in: P2P (fiat) trading, an on-chain deposit and a debit or credit card deposit [7]. For an on-chain deposit go to Assets, then Spot, then Deposit, then Onchain Deposit, choose the coin and the network, and copy the address or save its QR code. The network on the sending side must match, or the deposit can fail [7].
For a card deposit go to Assets, Spot, Deposit, then Debit/Credit Card, enter the fiat amount under Spend, pick the cryptocurrency and a payment method [7]. The guides state neither a minimum deposit nor a deposit fee, so check what the deposit page shows for your coin and network before you send [7][8].
Some coins, such as XRP and EOS, need a Tag/Memo as well as the address. If you send the wrong coin, address or chain, Gate's Token Recovery feature may help, but Gate says not all wrong deposits are recoverable and deposits on unsupported chains cannot be [8].
What you will pay
The table shows Gate's standard-tier spot and futures fees as CryptPerks records them from Gate's fee page, last read in a browser on 29 September 2026; your own rate depends on your VIP level, region and promotions [9].
Gate does not give invited users a fee discount. Its April 2023 announcement says invited users get a commission rebate credited to their spot account automatically once a trade completes [10], and its June 2023 announcement capped the direct-invitee ratio at 20% [11].

Standard-tier (VIP 0) rates from the comparison data CryptPerks keeps for all six exchanges. Your own rate depends on your region, VIP tier and promotions, and referral rebates or vouchers are separate from it. Check the exchange's fee page before you trade.
Country availability
Gate's Restricted Locations page (dated 22 November 2024) lists: the United States, Mainland China, Singapore, Canada, France, Germany, Hong Kong, Malaysia, Malta, Cuba, Iran, North Korea, Sudan, Crimea, Spain, Luhansk, Donetsk, the Netherlands, Bolivia, the United Kingdom, Myanmar, Venezuela, Uzbekistan, Austria, India, Indonesia, Japan, Argentina, Cambodia, the United Arab Emirates, Thailand and South Korea. Gate says it may restrict or prohibit services in certain areas and may update the list without prior notice [6].
The list is Gate's, not ours, and it does not say whether local rules allow you to use the exchange. If your country is listed, do not sign up.

No verification code: press Resend, and check spam. The app guide says a code is valid for 15 minutes [3].
KYC rejected: check the requirements in Step 5: an original, valid document in your own name with all four corners visible, a JPG or PNG under 4 MB, and a name that matches exactly [4][5].
Deposit missing: confirm the amount, the network, and any Tag/Memo; use Token Recovery for a wrong deposit, knowing it may not be recoverable [8].
